The story

Arlberg Club House Lech | Mediterranean Dining in a Historic Mountain Village

From Municipal Archive to Alpine Hub

The Arlberg Club House in Lech presents Mediterranean cooking within a repurposed municipal building at Dorf 2. Founders Patrick Krummenacher and Benjamin Schneider acquired the historic address after years of observing its vacancy across from their family hotel. Construction commenced in April 2024 and concluded within eight months, converting a former transit point for mountain milk into a five-floor hospitality complex. The ground floor anchors their vision, placing a dedicated dining room directly beside the village square.

The Kitchen and Seasonal Plates

Head chef Manuel Breitner directs a kitchen that translates coastal flavors into crisp alpine preparations. Raw presentations feature saibling ceviche layered with artichoke and trout roe, while the main course frequently highlights line-caught sea bass or slow-roasted Duroc pork chops. Regular visitors order the standard Caesar salad or the house-made Sicilian cannoli for dessert. These straightforward preparations align with the Gault & Millau jury’s recent appreciation for precise Mediterranean cuisine.

Crafted Interiors and Evening Ambience

Polished travertine flooring meets sweeping wooden arches carved by regional craftsmen. This deliberate architectural blend secured the BIG SEE Interior Design Award in the hospitality category last spring. Floor-to-ceiling glazing opens onto a sunlit terrace that remains active throughout the ski season. Diners who prefer a quieter pace can descend to Margo’s lounge, where curated soundtracks and low lighting extend the evening well past the final plate.

That the former tourist office relocated to the new municipal center was, from a gastronomic perspective, a stroke of good fortune for Lech. This allowed the renowned Arlberg Hotel to establish another multifunctional outlet in the heart of the prestigious ski resort. The basement features a chic, stylishly designed music club, the first floor offers a daytime café concept, and the ground floor houses a Porto Cervo-style restaurant with an Italian and Mediterranean culinary focus. One thing is clear upfront: the prices are steep, and caviar is served generously. The Caesar Classic salad delivers exactly what it promises. The char ceviche with artichoke and trout roe, the sea bass, and the flawlessly prepared Duroc pork chop all point to the potential of this venue, just as the Sicilian cannoli do for dessert.
