The story

Bibers Restaurant Lech: Alpine-Mediterranean Dining at the Arlberg

The Kitchen and Seasonal Approach

Bibers in Lech offers contemporary Alpine-Mediterranean cooking that balances mountain tradition with coastal influences. Recognized with fourteen points by Gault&Millau, the kitchen recently shifted toward a relaxed soul food concept under Chef Damir Stefanic. The team prepares a daily changing menu alongside a selective steak list and à la carte options. This flexible structure allows the cooks to respond directly to local harvests and seasonal arrivals.

Standout Dishes and Menu Philosophy

The current tasting plates highlight precise temperature control and layered dressing techniques. A marinated salad heart and beetroot plate relies on a sharp vinaigrette to bring out earthy sweetness. Octopus arrives with a carefully calibrated sear, while the onion roast beef maintains a tender interior without losing its traditional character. Guests can also explore a small steak card designed to complement the rotating Alpine-Mediterranean cuisine selections.

Atmosphere and Mountain Setting

The dining room blends alpine architecture with urban furnishings, using local wood and high color contrasts to create a calm backdrop. Internationally trained staff prepare several dishes within view of the tables, turning meal service into a quiet demonstration. Evening guests often pause at the adjacent cocktail bar, which stocks a deeply curated selection of spirits. The overall layout supports conversation while keeping the focus squarely on the mountain-coastal cuisine.

The house in the village center of Warth has recently undergone a culinary reorientation with a new team. The 12-seat chef's table is a thing of the past; soul food is now the trend. Austrian and Alpine cuisine meets Mediterranean fare. Regulars are loving it. The plate cocktail of marinated lettuce hearts and red beets has quite an addictive quality thanks to the excellent vinaigrette. The octopus and onion roast beef both stand out for their expertly achieved doneness. Alongside a daily rotating menu, a small steak list and à la carte dishes leave guests spoiled for choice. The cocktail bar impresses with a remarkably deep spirits selection. In the evenings, the (designer) hotel offers the most diverse gastronomic experience in the village.
