The story
On the Vlaamse Kaai in Antwerpen's vibrant 't Zuid district, l'Amitié brings together good food, fine wine, and a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant describes itself as a "refined yet welcoming bistro-bar where gastronomy meets conviviality." Its approach is built around sharing: guests are encouraged to order three to four dishes per person, turning each meal into a curated tasting journey.
The menu is an ever-evolving selection of high-level small plates, crafted with ingredients from passionate producers. The kitchen's Fusion style is evident in dishes like sea bass tartare with umeboshi and truffle, or taco pork belly with corn and coriander. Other options include beef tartare with potato and tarragon, octopus with green herbs, and monkfish with miso and coconut. A selection of charcuterie, cheeses, and canned seafood is also available. To complement the food, the wine list features ten to fifteen wines by the glass, chosen by the in-house sommelier.
The restaurant’s commitment to quality and value has earned it a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026, an award that highlights "good quality, good value cooking." It's a fitting recognition for a place that balances refined cooking with a relaxed, accessible spirit.
On Sundays, l'Amitié opens exclusively for private events, accommodating groups of 30 to 48 guests. The restaurant also offers catering and venue rental. With outdoor seating available, it's a spot that invites lingering over a shared meal and a glass of wine, in the heart of Antwerpen's 't Zuid.
