The story
For decades, Auberge Napoleon has been a destination for those who appreciate fine dining. Located in Meise, just north of Brussels, the restaurant underwent a complete renovation in 2011 and was reimagined again in 2022, emerging as a contemporary, luminous space that balances trendiness with timeless style. The interior is cheerful and fresh, setting the stage for a meal that is both refined and welcoming.
Under the guidance of chef Nico Struelens, the kitchen breathes new life into traditional French-Belgian cuisine. The team works with fresh, homemade ingredients, presenting dishes that are contemporary yet rooted in classic technique. The menu changes regularly, and on Saturday evenings, the restaurant offers its signature Napoleon menu, available in a three- or four-course format. The wine list is carefully curated, featuring both established classics and new discoveries.
Host Jan Stallaert and his young, passionate team aim to deliver “pure happiness in a friendly, stylish setting.” The restaurant is suited for a range of occasions: business lunches, family dinners, intimate tête-à-têtes, or reunions with friends. Since spring 2018, a roofed extension and an adjoining outdoor terrace have made it possible to host larger celebrations, such as communions and weddings, in a sun-drenched, green setting. The premises include a large private parking area and are fully wheelchair accessible.
Auberge Napoleon’s consistent quality has earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction in the 2026 guide. This recognition reflects the kitchen’s commitment to elevating Belgian and Classic French cuisine with modern flair, in a setting that feels both elegant and unpretentious. Whether for a midday lunch or a relaxed evening, the restaurant remains a reliable choice for gastronomy enthusiasts in the Brussels area.
