The story
Caffè Al Dente in Uccle has announced that its final service will take place on Saturday, 11 April 2026. After nearly 25 years of passion and shared moments, the team has decided to close this chapter, thanking the guests, friends, and partners who gave the place its soul. The restaurant, bar à vin, and takeaway shop will all cease operations on that date.
More than a single restaurant, Caffè Al Dente is three distinct spaces sharing one address. The Osteria is the main restaurant—elegant yet family-oriented, with a menu that changes daily based on seasonal arrivals from Italian suppliers. Expect four antipasti, four different pasta dishes, one meat and one fish, three vegetable sides, and homemade desserts, all prepared in-house. The kitchen is described as physical, gustatory, and epicurean, always cooked "al dente."
Next door, the Enoteca is a wine bar where bare bricks and wine crates set a casual, conversational tone. In the morning, Italian radio plays as the counter awakens with “caffè al bar.” At lunch, guests enjoy the pasta of the day; by aperitivo hour, Spritz and Prosecco compete with red wine. The kitchen reopens at 18:00 for the evening pasta.
Finally, the Negozio is a small grocery reminiscent of a packed Italian village shop, stocked with colourful goods and homemade paninis, plus an extensive wine selection available for takeaway.
Caffè Al Dente’s wine list features over 400 references, with at least ten wines by the glass. The Enoteca focuses heavily on natural wines, and the team is known for opening, sniffing, and recorking bottles for the pleasure of the gesture and the customer. The list spans the Italian peninsula, with sparkling wines from Emilia-Romagna and Sicily, and reds from across the country. This convivial, knowledgeable approach to wine helped the restaurant earn a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026.
For those who have yet to visit—or who want to say goodbye—the last chance to dine at Caffè Al Dente is Saturday, 11 April 2026. Reservations can be made at the Osteria or Enoteca 24 hours in advance. After that, this slice of Italy in Brussels will be a memory.
