The story
Da Mimmo has been a presence in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert for over 25 years, but its current identity is shaped by chef Louis Verstrepen, who took over in 2023. Verstrepen's training with Joël Robuchon and Anne-Sophie Pic instilled a precision and sophistication that now define the restaurant's Italian contemporary cooking. He describes his kitchen as a "laboratory of flavours," where tradition and modernity coexist, and each visit offers something new.
The Michelin one star, awarded in the 2026 guide, confirms the high quality of Verstrepen's work. In 2024, Gault&Millau named Da Mimmo Italian Restaurant of the Year in Belgium, with a score of 15 out of 20 – a clear recognition of the chef's creative vision.
Da Mimmo's menus are built around seasonal, quality ingredients and change regularly. Guests can choose between five, seven, or nine-course tasting formats. A business lunch of three or four courses is available Tuesday through Friday at lunchtime, and a vegetarian option can be prepared on request.
The wine list is a carefully selected journey through Italy's finest producers, focusing on small vignerons and remarkable terroirs, with a small addition of international and Belgian bottles. Each wine is chosen to complement the bold, contemporary Italian dishes.
The restaurant offers a refined yet welcoming setting for lunch or dinner. Private dining and full restaurant privatisation are available for events. Outdoor seating, air conditioning, and a thoughtful wine list add to the experience.
