The story

Le Passage, Brussels: Nearly Three Decades of Classic Cuisine

A Family Affair

Le Passage has been a fixture of Brussels' dining scene for nearly three decades. Chef Rocky Renaud, who spent many years at the renowned Villa Lorraine, opened the restaurant with a clear vision: to offer elegant contemporary cuisine rooted in the French classics. Today, he remains at the stove, while his son Kevin Renaud runs the dining room—a transition that began five years ago and ensures the same warmth and professionalism that regulars have come to expect.

The Cuisine

Rocky Renaud's cooking is a contemporary expression of classic cuisine. He respects the grand classics of French cooking but gives them a personal twist, resulting in a style that is elegant, contemporary, and unwavering in its personality. The menu changes with the seasons, featuring refined dishes such as lobster salad with artichoke and avocado, or ravioli of lobster perfumed with verbena in a Champagne broth. A tasting menu is available, and the kitchen also offers a weekly lunch menu.

Atmosphere and Setting

The restaurant strikes a balance between formal and relaxed. There is a private dining room for groups, a terrace for warmer months, and the dining room itself is welcoming for families. Parking is available on site, and the restaurant is fully accessible to wheelchair users. The ambiance is warm, with attentive service and a comfortable, understated elegance.

Recognition

Le Passage has earned a Michelin Recommendation for 2026, a testament to its consistent quality and the Renaud family's dedication. It is a place where classic cuisine is honoured without being stuffy, and where the personal touch of two generations makes every meal feel special.
