The story
That’s the motto at Origine, a Brussels restaurant near Place Jourdan that trades on surprise. The kitchen works in Modern French and World Cuisine, mixing unknown ingredients with daring flavour combinations. Michelin has recognised this approach, awarding the restaurant a "Recommended" distinction in 2026.
The setting is as personal as the cooking. The website describes a "young and personal look" and an atmosphere that is friendly and relaxed. Whether you lean towards land or sea, the menu is designed to make every choice feel right.
Origine offers four tasting menus, with options for vegetarians, vegans, and those avoiding lactose or gluten. A recent menu included a cold starter of dorade with chimichurri, smoked apricot ketchup and black lemon, or barigoule artichokes with lacto-fermented asparagus and black garlic. Mains range from miso-glazed pollock with shellfish pickles and shiitake cream to lamb with colonnata lard, harissa and smoked aubergine caviar. The four-course dinner (Monday to Friday evening) is €64; lunch runs from €34 for two courses to €58 for four.
Origine also hosts exclusive dinners, such as a recent collaboration with caviar house Sturia. The terrace is open in warmer months, and the restaurant is available for private events.
The result is a place that feels both approachable and adventurous – a fitting home for the "love, drink and eat" ethos.
