The story

Panda Brussels: Authentic Chinese Dining Near Auderghem

The Kitchen and Its Dishes

Panda serves authentic Chinese cooking in the Brussels district of Auderghem. Guests regularly order the steaming whole bass alongside crispy pork fritters dressed in a simple sweet and sour glaze. The vegetable plates carry equal weight, particularly the charred garlic bok choy and the lightly fried corn kernels tossed in salt and pepper. Every dish arrives ready to eat without unnecessary garnishes or modified flavors.

Room and Atmosphere

A solid spinach green exterior marks the building on Chaussée de Wavre, drawing attention away from the stark interior furnishings. The seating area stays compact and functional, letting the conversation focus entirely on the meal. Visitors from nearby Asian communities frequent the space because they appreciate the unvarnished approach to the menu. Arriving before eight thirty prevents long waits during peak hours.

Recognition and Philosophy

Le Fooding included this establishment in its 2026 guide for maintaining strict culinary integrity. Critics noted that the unpolished surroundings function as a deliberate filter, keeping out diners seeking Europeanized comfort food. The Chinese kitchen refuses to dilute traditional techniques or swap ingredients for local palates. This commitment to regional authenticity has built a reliable following among locals who value honest preparation over trendy presentations.

The spinach-green facade and the not-so-joyous decor? They’re both just a smokescreen hiding this lair’s authentic Chinese cuisine, which encourages rookies to have faith and their luck will hold with each unmissable dish. On our table, this time: flawless pork fritters with sweet and sour sauce and a smoking-hot steamed whole bass, which we ordered alongside a smattering of vegetable sides – including some dazzling garlic bok choy and salt and pepper sautéed corn. We shared the meal surrounded by Asian expats, and for good reason: here, there is no Europeanizing trickery meant for tourists to the Land of the Setting Sun. Top tip: show up before 8:30pm to make sure you get a spot. // Rocky Simone
