The story
On Avenue Louis Lepoutre in Ixelles, Toucan Brasserie brings a classic French brasserie experience with a modern, bistronomy-driven edge. The kitchen respects tradition while letting seasonal ingredients lead the way – a balance that earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026.
The menu revolves around timeless French dishes, reworked with freshness and precision. Think aged meats, whole grilled fish, and oysters sourced from top producers. The lunch formula offers an entrée and plat for €28, while the market menu – available both midday and evening – gives a choice between two starters, two mains, and two desserts for €43. A plat du jour is also available at €20.
The team works with a short list of trusted suppliers: Caviar Caspian Tradition for premium caviar, Boucherie Lesage for exceptional meat, and Pure Vanilla for organic, fair-trade vanilla from Madagascar. This commitment to quality ingredients is central to the restaurant’s identity.
Toucan Brasserie is open seven days a week, with valet parking available. A few doors down, its sister restaurant Toucan Sur Mer focuses entirely on seafood and shellfish, but here the emphasis is on classic French cuisine with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The space suits both a quick weekday lunch and a longer evening meal, with table service, a bar, and occasional live entertainment.
For those who prefer to eat at home, the restaurant also offers takeaway and delivery of its seafood platters, oysters, and emblematic brasserie dishes across Brussels.
