The story
The restaurant’s classic cuisine is driven by fresh, seasonal ingredients. Products are ordered at the start of each week from trusted suppliers, with daily deliveries ensuring optimal freshness. The philosophy is evident in every dish, from appetizers to dessert: a harmonious collaboration of ingredients, imagination, and technique. The cooking has earned Les Gourmands a Michelin star, an award first received in 1996 and maintained ever since. The guide describes the food as “a summit of tradition and flavour,” praising the chefs’ experience and mastery.
The dining room is overseen by Carlo Zecchin, a maître-sommelier who was named Belgium’s first sommelier. He presides over a cellar of more than 1,000 references, detailed in a wine book spanning over 70 pages. The selection spans wines for pleasure to renowned labels, catering to all budgets. The glass complements the plate admirably, making the wine list a destination in itself.
Beyond the main dining experience, Les Gourmands offers a catering service for special occasions and a takeaway option, allowing guests to enjoy their food at home. The restaurant is open for lunch on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, and for dinner from Thursday to Saturday.
