The story
In the quiet commune of Marche-les-Dames, just outside Namur, Dièdre Noir once offered a singular dining experience: French bistronomy set within the working vines of a domaine. The restaurant, part of the Dièdre Noir estate known for its sparkling wines, described its concept simply and directly: “La bistronomie dans la vigne” – bistronomy in the vineyard. It was a place where the kitchen drew its spirit from the surrounding terroir, and where two young chefs were at the helm, committed to giving guests the very best they could offer.
The restaurant earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a recognition that spoke to the quality and sincerity of its cooking. For diners, the appeal was the chance to enjoy refined, market-driven French cuisine in an atmosphere that felt both connected to the land and genuinely welcoming. The setting, surrounded by the estate’s own vines, gave each meal a sense of place that is rare to find.
Dièdre Noir has now closed, with the estate announcing the difficult decision to shutter the restaurant as of April 8. The team expressed deep gratitude to everyone who shared a moment there, calling the guests’ trust and loyalty their greatest reward. While the dining room is quiet, the hope is that a new project will soon flourish within those same walls. The memory of what was built there – a young, passionate team, a vineyard setting, and a straightforward love for French cuisine – remains.
