The story
Since 1999, Sophie and Denis Delvigne have been the heart and soul of Épices et Nous in Erpent, just outside Namur. Both trained at the École Hôtelière de la Citadelle, they create a warm, welcoming space where their passion for cooking and hospitality shines. The restaurant’s name reflects Denis’s love for spices and the convivial spirit they aim to share with every guest.
Épices et Nous offers two distinct indoor spaces and a terrace for warmer days. The front room is modern, bright, and dynamic, ideal for a lively meal. The rear verrière is softer and more intimate, bathed in natural light for a timeless moment. The kitchen focuses on traditional French cuisine revisited with creativity, using fresh, local produce to craft dishes that balance refinement and generosity.
The menu is built around authenticity and flavour. A signature dish is the ris de veau façon carbonara – crispy sweetbreads with lardons, fresh pasta, an egg yolk, and a cheese tuile. Other highlights include a tartare d’hamachi with pear, avocado, and sesame oil, and a demi baby homard canadien roasted with herbes de Provence, served with a lightly creamed turbot fumet, green curry, and saffron. Seasonal suggestions and revisited classics like the homemade Américain or a gourmet hamburger round out the offerings.
The quality and consistency of the Delvignes’ work have not gone unnoticed. Épices et Nous is listed as a Michelin Recommended restaurant, a fitting acknowledgment of their dedication to modern French cuisine and genuine hospitality.
