The story
lueur bar-cuisine calls itself “the improbable encounter between the instantaneity of bar service and exceptional products worked simply by instinct.” Chef Raphaël Vézina and his team bring this vision to life in a vibrant, surprising space on rue Dalhousie. With only 15 counter seats, the experience is intimate, immediate, and deliberately playful – what they call “fun dining.”
The menu changes with the seasons and the instincts of the kitchen. Recently, as chefs Michelle and Nicolas prepared to move on after two years at lueur’s helm, they crafted a special five-course menu (CAD $75) that revisited the precise, generous plates that defined their tenure. Cocktails are meticulous, built from the best local ingredients, and the wine list – curated by the head sommelier of sister restaurant Laurie Raphaël – offers both private imports and the full Laurie Raphaël selection.
In 2025, lueur received a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide, an award that highlights quality cooking at a good value. The guide praised the restaurant’s “quality, generosity and creativity” in its relaxed cuisine. The distinction was renewed in 2026, a testament to the team’s consistency and the authenticity of their modern cuisine. Each plate, as the restaurant puts it, tells a story and invites discovery – accessible yet memorable.
