The story
At Luca, contemporary Italian cuisine meets the relaxed elegance of the Caribbean. Located within the Caribbean Club on Seven Mile Beach, the restaurant offers stunning ocean views and a sleek, modern interior inspired by Soho, New York. The space, designed by a team from Italy, features hand-blown Venetian glass and designer cutlery, creating an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and welcoming.
The story of Luca begins with the friendship of managing owners Andreas Marcher and Paolo Polloni. Their partnership started in 1999 with the opening of Ragazzi Ristorante and Pizzeria. Building on that success, they launched Luca in 2007. The restaurant quickly earned a reputation for its meticulous attention to detail, from ingredients sourced directly from Italy to a wine cellar boasting over 1,600 labels. This dedication to wine has been recognized with a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence.
The menu is a celebration of modern Italian cuisine, with a focus on handcrafted pastas made fresh in-house and locally sourced seafood. Starters might include a beef carpaccio with truffle honey mustard or a tuna taco with truffled local yellowfin tuna tartare. Pasta dishes range from linguine with lobster and shrimp to pappardelle with braised beef short ribs and porcini ragout. The kitchen also offers gluten-free pasta, vegan and vegetarian options, and a dedicated kids' menu.
Luca is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, and for a special Sunday brunch buffet that blends Italian flavors with tropical ingredients. The restaurant can accommodate 180 guests across its dining room and patio, and complimentary valet parking is provided. Whether for a romantic dinner, a special occasion, or a leisurely meal with friends, Luca delivers a memorable dining experience on Grand Cayman.
