The story
Inside the Waldorf Astoria Beijing, on the third floor, Zijin Mansion has earned its place among the city’s distinguished dining rooms. Awarded a Michelin star for 2026, the restaurant continues a tradition of excellence that has seen it recognized by the guide for six consecutive years. The kitchen’s approach is rooted in classic Cantonese cooking techniques, yet it reaches beyond—taking inspiration from the changing seasons and sourcing the finest seasonal ingredients to create refined, authentic dishes.
Zijin Mansion’s menu is built on Cantonese culinary foundations, but the chefs also weave in elements of traditional Hakka cuisine, adding depth and surprise to the dining experience. The result is a style that is both faithful to its roots and quietly inventive. Each dish is a careful study in balance, texture, and flavor, designed to showcase the quality of the ingredients themselves.
The restaurant’s interior is elegant and understated, with a main dining room that seats 40 guests. For more intimate occasions, five private rooms are available, the largest accommodating up to 24 people. Whether for a business dinner, a family celebration, or a gathering of friends, the setting is refined yet welcoming, with a curated wine list from around the world to complement the meal. The dress code is smart casual or business attire, and the service is attentive without being intrusive.
