The story
“I never know in advance what I will cook,” says Chef Marina Gaši, and that is the heart of Marina. Every dish relies exclusively on ingredients from the Adriatic Sea, changing with the season, the weather, and the catch of local fishermen. There are no fixed menus – only a constant commitment to quality and the courage to surprise. “I can’t promise daily consistency in the choice of dishes, because I often surprise myself,” she adds. “But I can promise consistency in quality and the desire to make every plate even better.”
Lunch and dinner are served as degustation menus – four or six courses at lunch, six or eight at dinner – all built around the day’s freshest seafood. Desserts are chosen from a daily offer. For those who prefer a lighter lunch, there is also a pasta de jour – fresh, handmade pasta prepared “Marina’s way” with seasonal inspiration – and a signature aperitivo with three snacks. The wine pairing, curated by sommelier Davor Buršić, highlights wines from the Adriatic and nearby regions. “We are happiest when we have the freedom to change preconceptions,” says Buršić.
Marina’s uncompromising approach to pure, seasonal seafood has earned it a Michelin recommendation – a recognition of the restaurant’s honesty and the trust it places in the rhythm of the Adriatic. As Chef Gaši puts it: “Passion for cooking, love for the ingredient, inspiration from the place we come from, and uncompromising attitude toward norms and expectations… that is me, and that is what I want to be felt in the dishes coming out of my kitchen.”
