The story
Chateau Petit brings modern European dining to the UNESCO landscape near Břeclav. The restaurant occupies a classicist building constructed by the Liechtenstein family between 1816 and 1827. It originally functioned as a summer retreat at the historical border between Lower Austria and Moravia. Today the space houses an à la carte venue with a clean interior and carefully tuned acoustics, establishing a quiet setting for European cooking.
The kitchen delivers a menu shaped by subtle international influences. Chefs prepare a refined beef tartare that balances texture with careful seasoning. A duck main course arrives juicy alongside thoughtfully chosen sides and a rich reduction. The evening closes with a chocolate mousse finished with bright yuzu and crushed pistachios.
The dining room pairs its dishes with a curated wine list featuring regional Moravian selections. Staff guide guests through bottles that complement the kitchen’s European style. The culinary program rotates around seasonal ingredients and scheduled events like game feasts and truffle evenings. This steady output and attention to detail recently secured a 13.5 Gault & Millau rating for the 2026 season.
