The story
In the leafy Uus Maailm neighbourhood of Tallinn, Morel Bistroo makes its case with quiet confidence. The restaurant’s philosophy is clear: the dining experience is born from simplicity, not excess. Here, the food is honest, flavourful, and served with a relaxed attitude that never feels stiff.
Morel Bistroo has been selected by the Michelin Guide, a recognition it wears lightly. The team’s aim is to offer Michelin-quality dining at accessible prices, without the formality. The atmosphere is warm, the service open, and the space—small and lively—invites you to stay a while. Dogs are welcome, too.
The kitchen works with seasonal Estonian produce, letting fresh, genuine ingredients lead. The à la carte menu changes with the seasons, but examples of the current offering show a clear, modern hand: zucchini flower with tzatziki, almonds, and tomato sauce; beef tartare with crispy potato and a free-range egg yolk; chanterelle fettuccine with bacon; and a seafood paella with chorizo. Desserts include a white chocolate cream with raspberry sauce and fresh berries, or a pavlova with rhubarb.
Table bookings are held for 1.5 hours at lunch and 2.5 hours in the evening, encouraging a leisurely pace. The restaurant also offers a weekend brunch on Saturdays from 11:00 to 15:00. Whether you come for a quick lunch or a long dinner, Morel Bistroo delivers modern cuisine in a setting that feels both accomplished and unpretentious.
