The story
Perched on the Tallinn coastline at Ranna tee 3, NOA is a restaurant that describes itself as a meeting place for lunch, dinner, and anniversaries. Its striking seafront building has been repeatedly recognised with architecture prizes, and the sunsets here are something the team calls “fantastic” and unlike anywhere else. The interior is eclectic and cosy, but the real draw is the view – and the food.
NOA’s kitchen draws inspiration from travels around the world, but the ingredients remain natural and the style is firmly modern. The menu is built around a chef’s degustation experience, priced at 79€ per guest, with a sommelier-curated wine pairing for an additional 65€. Standout dishes from the current tasting menu include a beet tartare with cedar nuts and vadouvan yoghurt, monkfish fillet with miso celery and confit tomato, and venison cross-cut with bimi, black garlic, and red wine sauce. The meal finishes with a winter apple tartlet, tonka bean ice cream, and caramel apple – paired with an Estonian ice cider.
For those who prefer à la carte, the selection ranges from lighter plates like trout with focaccia and BBQ sour cream to hearty options such as grilled octopus with ’nduja and mbongo sauce, or pike-perch with roasted potato cream and pickled gooseberry. Desserts include a 500°C banana with salted caramel and lemongrass ice cream, and an Earl Grey chocolate mousse with cherry and olive oil.
NOA is part of the Siigur Restaurant Collection, a group of nine restaurants across Estonia and Helsinki. The team’s philosophy is straightforward: every detail – from food and service to the building itself – is built on quality, delivered without pretension. “For friends, relaxed and without excessive dressing up, every day, always,” they say. This approach has earned NOA a Michelin Bib Gourmand, an award that recognises good quality, good value cooking. It’s a fitting nod to a restaurant that combines modern cuisine, a warm seaside atmosphere, and genuine hospitality.
