The story
Kolm Sõsarat – “Three Sisters” – opened its doors in 2019 in the quiet village of Lüllemäe, deep in Southern Estonia’s Valga County. The restaurant describes itself as a cosy fine dining space where contemporary gastronomy, genuine local flavours, and heartfelt hospitality meet. In 2026, that approach earned it a Michelin Recommended award, a nod to the precision and integrity of the kitchen.
The menu follows the natural rhythm of Estonia’s four seasons. There is no à la carte. Instead, guests are offered a single tasting menu – seven courses in autumn and winter (149 euros per person, plan for at least four hours), and a lighter “Abundance Season” menu from May to mid-September. Head chef Kerti describes the summer offering as “full of fresh garden harvests and forest finds. Richer flavours come from lamb, grass-fed beef, eel, and trout.”
The produce is the backbone. Most ingredients are grown in the restaurant’s own gardens, foraged in nearby forests, or bought from local farmers. The style is a symbiosis of chef Kerti’s personal gastronomic voice, the legacy of Estonian cuisine, and the best available raw materials. The drink list balances well-known wine regions with small local producers, chosen to complement the seasonal arc of the food.
The setting is unhurried and intimate. Outdoor seating is available during the warmer months, and parking is straightforward. The restaurant is open only by reservation, with the summer season running until September 14th.
Kolm Sõsarat offers a direct, uncluttered expression of modern Estonian cuisine – one that lets the land and the season speak first.
