The story
Le Voilier is a restaurant anchored in the heart of Bonifacio’s picturesque port, with a terrace that looks out over the water and the citadel above. The team, led by chef Jean-Paul Bartoli, draws on the island’s seasonal produce to create refined Mediterranean cuisine that earned a Michelin Recommendation for 2026. The menu evolves with the market, and the cooking is described as an alliance of local terroir and creative flair.
Given its setting, the restaurant emphasises seafood – fish, shellfish and the prized red langouste typical of Corsica’s jagged coast. Grilled fish, fragrant papillotes and langouste caught the same morning feature regularly. The chef aims for a delicate balance, marrying marine ingredients with the island’s own produce. The overall approach is one of authenticity, with dishes that change by season and a service that is attentive without being fussy.
Beyond the food, Le Voilier places importance on its wine list. The cellar includes both Corsican endemic varieties, vinified in traditional ways, and a selection of larger crus. A sommelier guides guests through the pairings, making the experience feel complete. The restaurant also offers a private chef service and can host events, but its core remains the daily lunch and dinner service, open from April to October.
