The story
Since January 2026, the Hostellerie de la Mer has been writing a fresh story. Two friends, Stéphane Santiago and Sophie Barras, have taken the helm of this Logis hotel on the port of Le Fret, bringing over 30 years of experience in hospitality. With them, a committed team shares a simple philosophy: respect for the guest, genuine conviviality, and the pleasure of work done well.
The result is a house that feels both established and renewed. The setting is timeless—23 rooms looking out over the Rade de Brest, a terrace by the water, and an atmosphere that invites you to slow down. It is a place for a weekend for two, a nature getaway, or a peaceful professional stay, all within easy reach of the wild cliffs, beaches, and coves of the Crozon peninsula.
In the restaurant, the approach is direct: traditional cooking, entirely made in house, with local products and marine flavours at the centre. This is Modern Cuisine rooted in the Breton pantry, served with a view of the sea. The kitchen lets the ingredients speak, offering a menu that changes with the seasons and the catch.
This honest, grounded approach has earned the Hostellerie de la Mer a place in the Michelin guide, where it is listed as a Recomended address. It is a recognition that validates the team's commitment to quality and consistency.
Whether for a lunch facing the ocean, a romantic dinner, or a private reception, the dining room and its terrace offer a panorama that shifts with the light and the tides. Here, the sea truly comes to your table.
