The story

La Villa Madie – Michelin Three-Star Dining on the Cassis Coast

A Terrace Over the Anse de Corton

Perched on the rocky Anse de Corton, a reef well known to locals, La Villa Madie faces the Mediterranean. Its terrace, suspended above the water, sets the tone for a gastronomic experience that draws equally from the sea and the surrounding Provençal terroir. In this authentic fishing village of Cassis, Marielle and Dimitri Droisneau have made their home, offering what they call a cuisine entre Terre et Mer—between land and sea.

The Couple Behind the Kitchen

Marielle Droisneau, from Aveyron, trained with Michel Bras, Michel Guérard, Marc Veyrat, and Martin Berasategui. Dimitri Droisneau, a Norman, perfected his craft at Le Bristol, Lucas Carton, and La Tour d’Argent before a formative time with Bernard Pacaud, who instilled in him a love for pristine ingredients and precise execution. Together, they opened La Villa Madie, where his cooking and her service create a seamless expression of their shared vision.

A Cuisine Honoured with Three Stars

The restaurant has been recognised with a second Michelin star in 2014 and reached the highest distinction—three stars—in 2022. This accolade reflects Dimitri Droisneau’s meticulous approach: a cuisine that respects the purity of each product, whether from the Mediterranean waters or the Provençal hills. The wine list is carefully curated, and the dining room, whether indoors or on the terrace, remains attentive without formality.

A Setting Between Sea and Stone

The dining room opens onto the Cap Canaille cliffs, and the outdoor seating lets the salt air and light become part of the meal. Valet parking, air conditioning, and wheelchair access ensure comfort. For those seeking a more casual encounter with the same terroir, the adjacent Brasserie du Corton, also run by the Droisneaus, serves bistro-style dishes with the same seasonal ethos. But at La Villa Madie, the full expression of their craft is on the plate—a restrained, confident cuisine that needs no embellishment.
