The story
Since 1899, the Bidard family has been cooking in the same house in L'Abergement-Clémenciat, a stone's throw from Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne. The current generation describes their cuisine as "between creation and tradition" – a fitting description for a restaurant that has earned a Michelin recommendation.
The menu is built around fresh, house-made products. Guests can choose from a range of tasting experiences, from a quick lunch to a full 11-act dinner. The current offering, running from May to July, is available in formats of 5, 7, 9, or 11 acts, allowing diners to tailor the meal to their appetite.
Beyond the dining room, the team offers culinary workshops, private chef services, and the option to host private parties. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and has outdoor seating for warmer months.
Le Saint Lazare is a family affair, rooted in the Dombes region, where the Bidard name has been synonymous with hospitality for over a century. The modern cuisine served here is a direct continuation of that lineage, refined and presented with a contemporary touch.
