The story
Le Montrachet sits on the village square of Puligny-Montrachet, a few steps from the legendary vineyard that shares its name. The restaurant is housed in a 19th-century place du village inn, now part of the COMO collection. Its interiors, redesigned by Paola Navone Otto Studio, blend the charm of old Burgundy with clean, contemporary lines.
The kitchen is led by Chef Romain Versino, who crafts a menu of modern cuisine rooted in the region’s finest seasonal produce. Every dish is rigorously refined, using ingredients sourced from local markets and farms. The result is authentic French cooking that lets the quality of the produce speak. The restaurant’s sommeliers are on hand to recommend wine pairings from an extensive list that celebrates the great vintages of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits.
The restaurant’s commitment to excellence has earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction. This recognition reflects the consistency and care that define every meal at Le Montrachet, from the thoughtful sourcing to the precision of the cooking.
Beyond the dining room, Le Montrachet offers a range of experiences that deepen one’s understanding of Burgundy’s gastronomic culture. Guests can join master sommelier-led tastings, explore local cheeses paired with regional wines, or take part in market-to-table cooking classes with the chef. The restaurant also hosts special events such as the caviar dinner with Caviar de Neuvic, where Versino designs a five-course menu around a single exceptional ingredient.
From May to September, the restaurant’s terrace opens onto a 25-metre heated pool, where guests can enjoy a selection of drinks and light snacks. The setting is relaxed, yet the same attention to detail applies. Whether dining indoors or out, Le Montrachet remains a place where the link between the plate and the surrounding vineyards is clear, direct, and deeply satisfying.
