The story
Just off the Rouen-Paris axis, in the small town of Gasny, a half-timbered building with the quiet charm of the region houses Auberge du Prieuré Normand. The interior is cosy, inviting guests to slow down. This is a place where the kitchen’s ambition is matched only by its respect for the land.
Since taking over in September 2022, the chef – trained in several Michelin-starred kitchens in the area – has been crafting a modern cuisine that stays true to its Norman roots. The guiding principle is simple: source locally, make everything by hand. Every dish and dessert leaves the kitchen prepared in-house, using ingredients bought through short supply chains. The menu changes with the seasons, ensuring freshness and a direct connection to the surrounding countryside.
The restaurant’s standout dish is the Risotto de Langoustines: a creamy risotto with langoustines, mushrooms, chives, and an emulsion of truffle oil. It is a plate that speaks to the chef’s precision and the richness of modern cuisine, balancing seafood sweetness with earthy depth.
Beyond the dining room, a dedicated reception hall seats about forty guests just a few metres away. It can be privatised for weddings, baptisms, birthdays, or any celebration. The same attention to local, handmade fare carries through to these events, making the Auberge a natural choice for both intimate meals and larger gatherings.
Michelin recognised the restaurant with a Recommended award in 2026, underlining the consistency and quality of this modern cuisine in the heart of Normandy. Whether you arrive after visiting Monet’s gardens at Giverny or the Château de la Roche-Guyon, the Auberge du Prieuré Normand offers a pause that feels both refined and effortless.
