The story
At the Domaine de Fontenille, set among the gardens and vineyards of Lauris, La Cuisine d'Amélie offers an authentic expression of Provençal cooking. The kitchen draws its inspiration directly from the surrounding terroir, working with ingredients sourced from a tight radius of 20 to 50 kilometers around the estate. This commitment to local, seasonal produce forms the backbone of every dish.
The menu evolves constantly, reflecting the rhythms of the season and the daily harvest. Tomatoes come from Domaine de la Corée in Lourmarin; olive oils are supplied by Léo Coupat of Bastide du Laval. Chickpea flour and petit épeautre come from Frédéric Ratto in Cucuron, and meats from Stéphane Ortiz. Each ingredient is treated with respect for its natural flavor, resulting in a sincere, unfussy cuisine that lets the product speak. The restaurant’s focus on short supply chains and waste reduction underscores a thoughtful, sustainable approach.
The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner, with outdoor seating that lets guests soak up the mild Provençal evenings. From late spring through summer, the Domaine hosts special experiences—tapas evenings, dinners in the rose garden, and barbecue-brasero nights in the vines. These gatherings, along with the daily menu, showcase the best of the region’s Mediterranean cuisine in a setting designed for lingering.
This dedication to honest, terroir-driven cooking has earned La Cuisine d'Amélie a place in the Michelin guide, a recognition that aligns naturally with the restaurant’s philosophy: letting the Luberon’s finest ingredients take center stage.
