The story
In the heart of Limoges’ historic quarter, among half-timbered houses, Amphitryon occupies a charming building that feels both elegant and welcoming. Chef Olivier Polla leads the kitchen here, drawing on a career that includes stages at Michelin-starred addresses in Paris: L’Étoile d’or, Ledoyen (with Ghislaine Arabian), Lucas Carton (under Alain Senderens), and La Maison Blanche. His experience in haute cuisine catering with Nomad-food-design also informs his approach.
The result is a modern cuisine that is inspired and current, rooted in the tradition of French technique but expressed with a contemporary touch. The dining rooms are cosy and refined, spread across several levels: a main dining room seating 20, an upper room for 32, and smaller salons for more intimate gatherings or private parties. In summer, the terrace opens onto the foot of the Saint Aurélien chapel, offering a charming outdoor setting for lunch or dinner.
The restaurant’s commitment to quality and consistency has earned it a place in the Michelin guide, recognised as a Recommended address. Amphitryon also offers catering and reception services for events such as weddings and business dinners, adapting the menu and budget to each occasion. Whether for a leisurely meal or a celebration, the atmosphere remains warm and professional, with a focus on well-executed modern French cuisine.
