The story
In the heart of Maillane, just steps from Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and the Alpilles, Maison Bernard occupies an authentic 14th-century building. Julie and Jérémy Scalia welcome guests into a luminous, warm setting where every detail is designed to elevate the flavors of the region.
The kitchen here is rooted in the Mediterranean, drawing on Provençal traditions. Each dish is intended to tell a story, from the trout of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue with grilled corn, saffron, and ginger, to the Mediterranean mullet gravlax with fennel, cucumber, and green anise. Pork from the Crau des Alpilles appears with petits pois, spring onions, black garlic, and cardamom. Desserts, like the cherry from Verttige’Bio with balsamic and almond biscuit, continue the seasonal, regional narrative.
Maison Bernard has been recognized by the Michelin Guide, a testament to the precision and care in this kitchen. The restaurant offers two tasting menus—the Découverte at €59 and the Plaisir at €79 (€114 with wine pairing)—recommended to be chosen uniformly per table for a cohesive experience.
Beyond the dining room, the property also offers guest rooms and a suite with a rooftop overlooking the church bell tower, between the Luberon and Camargue. Whether for a meal or an overnight stay, Maison Bernard provides a refined yet welcoming encounter with Provençal hospitality.
