The story

Les Bouteilles – Wine Bar, Bistro & Restaurant in Nantes | Michelin Recommended

Les Bouteilles describes itself simply: a wine bar, a bistro, a restaurant, and a wine shop all in one. For 25 years, this Nantes address has been a place where bottles take centre stage. The atmosphere is dedicated to wine – "où les flacons sont rois" – and the kitchen works in service of the cellar.

The wine list numbers over 1,500 references, available by the glass (from €3.50 to €15) or by the bottle, magnum and beyond. On Saturday lunchtimes, bottles to drink on site are offered at a 25% discount. For the bar section, no reservation is needed – just drop by. For dining, bookings are taken for lunch and dinner.

A kitchen that complements the cellar

The menu features elaborate tapas and traditional cuisine – "une cuisine au service de nos vins." Small plates are designed to pair with the extensive selection. The cooking is homemade, using produce cooked on the premises.

A versatile space

Les Bouteilles offers a terrace for outdoor seating, free Wi-Fi, and the possibility to privatise the space for private parties or events. A private room is also available. The venue can host private chef experiences.

Michelin recognition

In 2026, the Michelin guide awarded Les Bouteilles its "Recommended" distinction, acknowledging the quality of both the wine programme and the cooking. It’s a place that has earned its place in Nantes’ dining scene through consistency and a genuine love of wine.

Whether you come for a glass at the bar, a full meal, or to buy a bottle to take home, Les Bouteilles welcomes you with the same straightforward warmth: "A bientôt chez nous."

This tavern is perfect for a Bacchic feast, as paintings of pigs and bottles of wine surround the dining room like an army. On the agenda for these sparring matches: no bloodshed, of course, but well-made market dishes by the owner Michael Ravier: charcuterie from Casa Porciatti in Tuscany (salamino, capocollo, pancetta, finocchiona… €15); honorable lamb chops from the Vendée in an herb crust, with new potatoes and haricots verts from Jean Luc Gauthier (€19.50); a cheese plate from Régis Lecoq (€6.50) or a raspberry millefeuille from Damien Rio at the nearby market in Talensac, with Tahitian vanilla chiboust cream (€6.50). And because the main reason we came was for the wine, be sure not to retreat before taking a few shots at the wine collection. Amongst the 700 labels you’ll find: a Collioure from the Domaine de La Rectorie (€7.50 a glass), Les Perriêres, a Muscadet from Jérôme Bretaudeau (€27 a bottle) or a very sunny Solen from the Domaine Les Aurelles (€49 a bottle). À la carte €36-41. // A.Be.
