The story
Since 2018, chef Mickael Gracieux and his wife Elise Morselli-Lourtet have made 2 Rue Gustave Deloye their home. Just steps from Nice’s legendary Place Massena, the restaurant occupies a contemporary space that sets the stage for Gracieux’s precise, creative cooking. The restaurant’s Michelin star recognises a kitchen driven by fresh products and a clear vision of Modern Cuisine.
Inside, the decor is clean and modern, letting the plates speak. Gracieux draws on his deep experience in Culinary Art to compose two tasting menus that change with the seasons. The Persil menu offers five courses; the Basilic expands to seven. Both are available with carefully matched food and wine pairings – four glasses for the Persil, six for the Basilic. The cooking is modern, creative, and always rooted in the quality of the ingredients.
The chef’s approach to Modern Cuisine is one of balance and restraint. Nothing is superfluous. Each dish is built around a central idea, executed with technical precision and a clear sense of flavour. The result is a meal that feels both thoughtful and generous.
L'Aromate is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with a later seating on Saturdays. The restaurant also offers gift boxes for those who want to share the experience – themed boxes named Persil, Vegetal, and Basilic, designed as an invitation to gastronomic pleasure.
In a city known for its vibrant food scene, L'Aromate stands out for its quiet confidence and focused ambition. It is a place where the cooking itself is the point.
