The story
Le Séjour Café is the story of three siblings – Marina, Julie, and Robin Geille – who grew up in a family of restaurateurs on the Côte d’Azur. In 2011, they opened their own place on rue Grimaldi, in Nice’s Carré d’Or, with a simple ambition: a contemporary yet warm setting where guests feel at home. The name says it all: Le Séjour means "the stay."
The kitchen turns out what the family calls “cuisine gourmande, moderne et inventive” – generous, modern, and inventive cooking. There is no fixed menu; instead, a short chalkboard of dishes changes with the market, driven by fresh, seasonal produce. This is Modern Cuisine in its most direct form, anchored in the French tradition but free to explore. The wine list mirrors that philosophy, with bottles chosen from both prestigious estates and rising vignerons, always highlighting French terroir.
Le Séjour Café’s commitment to honest, refined cooking has earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction – a mark of consistency and care that locals and travellers alike have come to trust.
The atmosphere is deliberately unpretentious: good food, good wine, good conversation. Tuesday to Saturday, lunch and dinner unfold in a relaxed rhythm that feels both contemporary and timeless. For anyone seeking modern French cuisine in central Nice without ceremony, Le Séjour Café delivers exactly what its name promises.
