The story
In the heart of Ribeauvillé, surrounded by vineyards and history, Au Relais des Ménétriers offers a dining experience that is both authentic and contemporary. The restaurant’s modern cuisine is built on a simple premise: respect for the product, a deep connection to local terroir, and a willingness to look beyond borders for inspiration.
Under the guidance of chefs Virginie Jacquet and Anish Chourey, the kitchen works with carefully sourced seasonal ingredients from regional producers. The cooking stays rooted in French fundamentals while adding subtle international touches that bring freshness and creativity to each plate.
The result is a menu that changes with the seasons. Guests might begin with a creamy egg and seasonal asparagus with verbena emulsion, move on to Alsace trout with lentils and beets in varied colours and textures, and finish with a citrus variation with kulfi and pistachio. A vegetarian “Vertige” menu is also available, featuring a mushroom corolle with pleurotes and enoki, sarriette mousse, and a vegetable pot-au-feu en croûte with brown lentils and smoked tofu.
The dining room is elegant and warm, designed for a fine dining experience that feels modern without being stiff. This balance of tradition and innovation has earned the restaurant a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a recognition of good quality, good value cooking that speaks directly to the kitchen’s philosophy.
Au Relais des Ménétriers is open Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner, offering a setting where the flavours of Alsace meet a contemporary, open-minded approach to modern cuisine.
