The story

La Cour de Rémi, Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise: Bib Gourmand Countryside Restaurant

La Cour de Rémi

In the quiet village of Bermicourt, near Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise, La Cour de Rémi is a true country inn. The restaurant sits within a restored 19th-century farmstead of white stone, surrounded by 15 hectares of parkland. Here, chef Sébastien has built a place that reflects his own journey: after a career that took him around the world, he returned to his roots, earned his CAP, and trained alongside Yves Camdeborde and Stéphane Jego at the celebrated L'Ami Jean in Paris. They taught him the craft of working with pork, pushed him past his limits, and instilled a daily discipline that now defines his kitchen.

Back at La Cour de Rémi, Sébastien’s cooking is straightforward and deeply satisfying. The menu is built on excellent ingredients, many of which are sometimes overlooked by other restaurants. He insists on making everything in-house, taking full responsibility for every plate. The result is a cuisine of sharing and conviviality: simple, ultra-gourmand, and rooted in the seasons of the Artois countryside.

The dining room is the heart of the experience, but from May to August, Sunday evenings bring a special offering in the potager’s barn. Here, cooking moves to an open fire—grills, roast chickens, and pork dishes are prepared over a brasero or in the fireplace, served family-style under the awning. Rosé flows freely, local beer is poured, and the mood is relaxed, with music to match.

This approach earned La Cour de Rémi a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a recognition that rewards good quality, good value cooking. It is a fitting nod to a chef who values taste, simplicity, and pleasure above all else.

The restaurant is open from Tuesday evening through Sunday lunch, exclusively by reservation. The adjoining hotel offers ten spacious rooms, giving guests the chance to linger in this quiet corner of the Pas-de-Calais.
