The story
Kasbür began in 1932 as a country bistrot run by the Kieffer family’s great-grandparents. Nearly a century later, Yves and Béatrice Kieffer transformed it into a Michelin-starred destination. Since 2013, their restaurant in Monswiller, just outside Saverne, has held a Michelin star, and in 2022 they received the Gault & Millau Trophée technique d’Excellence.
Yves Kieffer trained at La Tour d’Argent and under Marc Meneau, a chef he describes as a model. His cooking is described as “d’une grande finesse, aux accords justes et marqués, avec un soin particulier apporté au dressage.” The cuisine is modern, grounded in rigorous technique and deep respect for the product. The restaurant sources locally whenever possible, working closely with regional producers, farmers, and winemakers.
The dining room balances classic elegance with contemporary design—clean-lined lighting, floral tapestries, and large windows that frame the changing landscape of the Vosges foothills. In warmer months, a south-facing terrace and arboured garden offer views of the “Blue Line” of the Vosges. The atmosphere is welcoming, refined, and unmistakably familial.
Kasbür’s modern cuisine is also available for private events, from business lunches to family celebrations, in the dining room, on the terrace, or in the garden.
