The story
Since 2007, Le Mangevins has been a fixture on the Rue des Herbes in Tain-l'Hermitage, just across the river from Tournon-sur-Rhône. The restaurant describes its own cooking as "cuisine de bistrot," a straightforward, ingredient-led approach that has earned it a Michelin recommendation.
The focus is on quality products, prepared simply and paired thoughtfully with an extensive wine list that offers numerous references by the glass or bottle. This is modern cuisine without fuss—seasonal, market-driven, and rooted in the traditions of the Rhône Valley.
The dining room is welcoming and unpretentious, with outdoor seating available for warmer months. The atmosphere is relaxed, befitting a place that serves lunch and dinner with the easy confidence of a well-run neighbourhood spot. Private parties can also be accommodated.
Le Mangevins is open for lunch from Monday to Friday, and for dinner from Monday to Thursday, always strictly by reservation. It is closed on weekends. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and offers Wi-Fi, making it a comfortable stop for anyone exploring the northern Rhône wine country.
