The story

Restaurant Kurt im Gutshaus – Modern Seasonal Dining in Anklam, Germany

Restaurant Kurt im Gutshaus

In the quiet village of Stolpe an der Peene, just outside Anklam, Restaurant Kurt im Gutshaus brings a fresh, thoughtful approach to dining. Housed within the historic Gutshaus Stolpe, the restaurant is guided by a philosophy that values nature, region, and connection. The kitchen, led by chef Mehmet Kaan Verdo, works with the seasons: asparagus in April, strawberries and rhubarb in May, mushrooms and game in autumn, goose from Martinmas onward. It is a return to the old estate tradition of serving what the land generously offers.

The menu changes accordingly, with 80% of ingredients sourced from within 100 kilometres. Guests can choose from a selection of set menus or order à la carte, and a wine pairing—matched glass by glass by sommelier and restaurant manager Jan Lederer—is available to accompany each course. The atmosphere is relaxed and contemporary, supported by a service team that shares the kitchen’s dedication to craftsmanship.

This commitment to place and produce has earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommended distinction, a recognition that reflects its quiet ambition and steady quality. Restaurant Kurt im Gutshaus is open for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, starting at 18:00.

Concept Refined country cuisine in an enchanted Relais & Châteaux property situated on the banks of the Peene. Two tasting menus featuring three to five courses, one of which is vegetarian, with all dishes also available à la carte. Culinary Style The young, creative team works with ingredients that typically originate from a radius of up to 100 kilometers. Silky sweetbreads are paired with peas, cauliflower, and Grana Padano, while free-range chicken from a neighboring farm is showcased with truffle, spinach, and egg yolk. Caramelized parsley root is transformed into a flavorful dessert alongside pistachios, green apple, and white chocolate. Wine Sommelier Jan Vollmar-Lederer charmingly and expertly complements the dining experience with classic wines, including selections from Martin Schwarz (Saxony) and Château Gaby in Bordeaux. Atmosphere Raspberry-colored walls, chrome accents, and black leather; the former playful French country house aesthetic has been replaced by a cool mid-century modern style. A summer terrace overlooking the park. Dogs are welcome. Conclusion A place that instantly helps you slow down and unwind.
