The story
In the heart of Kreuzberg, Orania.Berlin occupies a heritage-listed building that blends modern luxury with genuine character. This is a place where the restaurant acts as the vibrant heart of the house, a setting for live concerts five days a week and a meeting point for locals, business travelers, and creatives alike.
The restaurant, Orania.Restaurant, serves modern cuisine under the direction of managing director and culinary chef Philipp Vogel, alongside his wife and co-host Jennifer Vogel. The kitchen team is led by chef Kevin von Werthern, with pastry chef Denise Szalies (currently on parental leave) and sous chef Chris Szalies. The team's philosophy is simple: “We are serious but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.” This attitude translates into a warm, professional atmosphere that feels both exclusive and welcoming.
The Orania.Bar, managed by Julian Berger, offers a drinks menu defined by a colorful rainbow of flavors, from fresh to spicy. Cocktails like the terra (bourbon, shiitake, citrus, honey, ginger) or the k-hop (yakju, agave, strawberry vermouth, oat milk punch) showcase a creative, locally-sourced spirit selection. The bar also serves soul food, including a crispy veal schnitzel with potato-cucumber salad and an X-Berg Duck pizza.
The quality of the modern cuisine and the overall experience earned Orania.Berlin a Michelin Recommended distinction. It is a place where the food, the drinks, and the live music come together in a setting that is distinctly Berlin.
