The story
Le Flair brings the rich, sun-drenched tastes of the Mediterranean to the heart of Düsseldorf. Chef Dany Cerf, who trained at Zurich’s Baur au Lac and under Jean-Claude Bourgueil, opened the restaurant in 2014 alongside business partner Nicole Bänder. The setting is purist and elegant, near Maurice-Ravel-Park – a place where the focus is squarely on the plate and the pleasure of shared dining.
The kitchen draws on the diverse aromas of the Mediterranean coast, turning out dishes that balance tradition with a modern touch. The menu changes with the seasons, offering both à la carte choices and a curated tasting menu. Standouts from the current carte include Obsiblue shrimp tartare with tomato and vanilla, Barbarie duck with radicchio and balsamic, and a lobster roll with chili mayo and celery. The wine list is guided by sommelier Tobias Gläser, and the restaurant also hosts exclusive wine tastings and cooking classes with chef Cerf.
Le Flair has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a recognition that reflects the consistency and precision of the cooking. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting – a place for lingering conversations over carefully prepared food. Open Monday to Friday evenings, it has become a destination for those seeking genuine Mediterranean cuisine in Düsseldorf.
