The story
For more than two decades, Saittavini has been a first address for fine Italian cuisine in Düsseldorf. Owner Michelangelo Saitta, a Sicilian at heart, welcomes guests with a philosophy rooted in his homeland: “Who knows no leisure, does not live.” The atmosphere is relaxed and convivial, a place to enjoy excellent food and good wine without pretense.
The menu changes daily, featuring a deliberately small selection of antipasti, handmade pasta, and Mediterranean fish and meat dishes. Eighty percent of the vegetables come fresh from Italy, the beef is from the Piedmontese Razza Piemontese breed sourced from the La Granda cooperative, and the fish is from sustainable catches. Dishes range from a delicate Burrata with tomato carpaccio and pine nuts to house-made Tagliarini with black winter truffle. Main courses include grilled fish skewers (Dover sole, prawn, turbot, sea bass, scallop) and a Fassona beef filet for two. The kitchen also offers seasonal specialties like white asparagus in spring.
Wine is central to the Saittavini concept. The cellar holds around 1,000 top wines from across the globe, the result of long-standing relationships with exceptional vintners. Guests can also purchase bottles to take home from the on-site shop.
Saittavini’s commitment to quality and authenticity has earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction, a testament to its consistent standards and warm hospitality.
Saittavini also offers catering and event services, bringing Italian moments to private and corporate gatherings. The restaurant has outdoor seating for warmer months.
