The story
mondi describes itself as both a restaurant and an idea. “We are shaped by global influences; our local environment dictates the menu.” The kitchen works transparently, directly, with a clear stance: farm-to-plate, out of respect for guests and themselves. The result is a constantly changing menu that captures the surrounding moment. This commitment to local sourcing and mindful cooking forms the core of mondi’s modern cuisine.
The evening begins with small arrival bites – recent combinations have included apple with chickpea, onion with Comté, and a house-made charcuterie. Guests then choose between an omnivore or vegetarian menu, each built around seasonal produce and balanced contrasts. A typical menu might feature four courses: celery, pear and elderflower; trout, lentils and kale; chicken with chicory and mandarin; and Limousin beef with king oyster mushroom. Optional additions range from caviar with koji and hazelnut to a rhubarb, woodruff and tagetes dessert. The omnivore menu is priced at 89€, the vegetarian at 84€ (subject to change). The beverage list is curated with equal care, featuring classic and young producers, with a focus on balance and enjoyment.
mondi offers a private dining room for up to 24 guests, with the same changing menu served in a relaxed setting. The adjoining terrace can also be used. The overall atmosphere is informal and welcoming – a place for a good time, born from the joy of eating together.
This thoughtful, sustainable approach earned mondi a Michelin Recommended distinction, underscoring its commitment to modern cuisine that is both locally rooted and globally inspired.
