The story

Schloss Loersfeld in Kerpen: Classic French & International Cuisine in a Historic Castle

A Castle Setting for Classic French Cuisine

Schloss Loersfeld sits within a meticulously maintained, 10-hectare English landscape park, described as one of the most beautiful estates in Germany. The restaurant itself, run by Thomas Bellefontaine—who grew up on the property and has been its tenant since 1990—offers a refined dining experience in an atmosphere of stately elegance. It is a place where the grandeur of the historic building meets the precision of modern gastronomy.

The Kitchen and its Team

The culinary direction is led by chef Giorgo Mimisa and his creative team. Their style is a modern interpretation of classic French cuisine, with a focus on international influences. The kitchen brigade includes chef pâtissier Fatih Coglan, who brings nearly fifteen years of experience from noted French and German kitchens, including a stint at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Aachen. The team’s dedication is evident in their approach to the menu, which changes with the season and the day's finest produce.

What to Expect on Your Visit

The restaurant offers a current “Loersfeld-Menü” on Wednesday and Thursday evenings—a four-course menu that showcases the kitchen’s refined, French-inspired cooking. The dining room, set within the castle's original interiors, provides a backdrop of understated luxury. For those who wish to extend their experience, the surrounding parkland offers a tranquil setting for a pre- or post-dinner stroll. The restaurant has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a testament to the consistent quality and ambition of its classic French and international cuisine.
