At Otto, the team behind the stove—Jan & Tobi—presents an Italian evening that is less about folklore and more about creative, humble cooking. The restaurant, located at Am Hof 48 in Cologne, describes its approach as "demütige Kulinarik" (humble culinarics), a philosophy that translates into a focused, ingredient-driven experience. The menu is a single six-course affair, offered each evening from 17:30, and is built around the best of what the season and sea have to offer.

Diners might begin with raw marinated kingfish, white cabbage, and pumpkin in two textures, or a classic buffalo mozzarella paired with cauliflower, apricot, and almond. The primi course features homemade pastas such as tagliatelle with walnut, parsley, and Sicilian bergamot, or gnocchi with courgette flowers, stracchino cheese, and peach. For the secondi, wild-caught turbot with spinach and parsnip cream stands alongside a grilled artichoke with root vegetables and pecorino. The meal closes with a chocolate fondant, pear sorbet, and fennel green, or a selection of Italian cheeses with fruit chutney.

The wine list leans heavily into natural and low-intervention Italian bottles, from a sparkling pink from the slopes of Mount Etna to a Barbera d'Asti from Piedmont. Otto is a place that respects Italian cuisine without being bound by its rules—a fact recognized by the Michelin guide, which awarded it a Recommended distinction for 2026.

The dining room is air-conditioned, and the kitchen serves until 22:30. Reservations are essential, and only card payments are accepted.
