The story
Chef Kevin Rose brings a storied career to Ad Astra, a restaurant that reflects his uniquely global approach to European Contemporary cuisine. Originally from the East Coast of the United States, Rose began his culinary journey at 14 in a restaurant near his Pennsylvania hometown. By 18, he had joined the kitchen at the three Michelin-starred Restaurant Daniel in New York City, where he spent over five years under Chef Daniel Boulud, rotating through every station.
After leaving Daniel, Rose served as Sous Chef and later Chef of Research and Development at the two Michelin-starred Atera, working under Chef Ronny Emborg. There, he honed his skills in menu creation and execution. Now, after more than a decade in New York’s fine dining scene, Chef Rose has brought his vision to Ad Astra.
The restaurant itself is defined by its intimate counter dining setup, where guests can watch the kitchen at work. The atmosphere is refined yet welcoming, designed to let the food speak. Ad Astra’s recognition with a Michelin star speaks to the precision and creativity of Chef Rose’s cooking. His menu is a reflection of his journey—technically polished, globally inspired, and deeply personal.
At Ad Astra, the experience is about more than just eating. It is an invitation to share in Chef Rose’s passion for European Contemporary cuisine, crafted with the discipline and artistry he developed in some of the world’s most demanding kitchens.
