The story
Dallmayr Bar & Grill sits inside the legendary Dallmayr delicatessen on Dienerstraße, just steps from Marienplatz. It is a place that moves through the day: lively market-hall bustle at lunch, relaxed evening vibes with subtle electronic music after dark. The focus is firmly on fish, seafood, wine, and Champagne – an international cuisine that draws from the best the sea offers.
At the heart of the action is a custom-built Japanese Robata grill, where chefs prepare lobster, scallops, cod, and more right before guests’ eyes. Head chef Kevin Osinski leads a creative, open-minded kitchen that combines seasonal ingredients with a global perspective. A standout is the Bar & Grill Bouillabaisse, a modern interpretation of a Dallmayr classic. Small sharing plates, fresh oysters, and large mixed seafood platters (available on the terrace in good weather) round out the menu.
The interior balances history and modernity. Elements from the 1910s – a heavy tin bar counter, mirrored surfaces – are echoed in the design. Turquoise handmade ceramic tiles, reminiscent of fish scales, anchor the sea theme. Green leather banquettes, marble, and oak paneling create a setting that feels both relaxed and refined. The outdoor terrace, with large umbrellas, invites lingering over a glass of Champagne or a plate of grilled fish.
Dallmayr Bar & Grill has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a nod to its consistent quality and the unique experience of dining within one of Munich’s most storied delicatessens. Whether for a quick glass of Champagne at the bar, a full lunch, or a late dinner, it offers a seamless blend of casual elegance and gastronomic ambition.
