The story
On Sparkassenstraße, just steps from Marienplatz, Ristorante Galleria brings a distinctly personal vision of Italian and Mediterranean cooking to Munich. The kitchen is led by Chef Andrea Pomiato Colesso, whose style has been shaped by experience in several Michelin-starred restaurants. At Galleria, he has developed a unique approach that balances tradition with a light, modern touch—earning the restaurant a place in the Michelin guide’s Recommended selection.
The menu changes with the seasons, built around a core of handmade pasta, prime seafood, and carefully sourced meats. Starters like the Vitello Tonnato e Viceversa playfully reinterpret a classic, while the Tartar di Manzo with quail egg and black truffle shows the kitchen’s precision. Among the primi, the saffron risotto with foie gras and the Bigoli with oxtail ragout stand out for their depth of flavor. Seafood dishes such as turbot with smoked cauliflower, raisins, and almonds demonstrate a confident hand with delicate ingredients. For dessert, Sous-Chef Gabriele’s sweet creations are described as “worth the sin.”
For those who want the full experience, the evening tasting menu offers five or six courses, and a weekday lunch menu provides a more casual introduction to the kitchen’s style.
Galleria’s dining room is comfortable and refined, with air conditioning for warm Munich days. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner, welcoming guests with the warmth that defines the best Italian hospitality. The wine list focuses on premier Italian labels, chosen to complement the food.
