The story
GRETA OTO Munich describes itself as a harmonious blend of grace, beauty, and liveliness. The restaurant’s mission is to share a passion for unique flavors and unforgettable experiences, and the kitchen achieves that by honoring traditional Amazonian ingredients while employing modern techniques and international influences. The result is a menu that feels both adventurous and refined, earning a Michelin recommendation for its bold Latin American cuisine.
The menu is a journey through Latin America—from Peruvian ceviche to Brazilian beef. Starters like the “GRETA OTO brioche” with whipped butter, chili, and popcorn set the tone, while ceviches are made with a choice of organic salmon, mahi mahi, or grilled watermelon for a vegan option. Tacos and tostadas feature pulled chicken with chipotle or yellowtail tartar with avocado cream. Mains include whole grilled pulpo with pebre sauce, flamed yellowtail with moqueca sauce, and a wagyu roast beef with salsa roja. For those who want to share, the “WE LOVE GRETA OTO” signature three-course menu brings together guacamole, ceviche, beef tartar, pulpo, chicken, and desserts like churros and tres leches.
Monday through Friday, the restaurant offers a lunchtime “caja bento”—a vibrant box that combines an Amazonian salad, a zesty ceviche, a soup of the day, and a choice of main, finished with a house-made sorbet. During warmer months, the rooftop terrace opens (projected for May 2026) and transforms into one of Munich’s most spectacular spots, with panoramic views stretching from the city’s rooftops to the Bavarian Alps. The terrace serves a curated, seasonal menu and creative drinks.
For a more intimate gathering, “La Mesa” is a private dining table tucked away from the main room, accommodating up to 14 guests. It offers the same lively spirit of the restaurant with the added bonus of a unique panoramic view over Munich’s city center and the iconic Frauenkirche.
The atmosphere at GRETA OTO is vibrant and electric—every seat taken, guests gathered around the bar, laughter and music filling the air. With a smart casual dress code and a late-night bar, it’s a place designed for lingering, whether you’re sipping a pisco sour on the terrace or indulging in a whole roasted duck served tableside.
