The story
For over ten years, Sandra and Michael Huber have been welcoming guests to their restaurant in Munich's Bogenhausen district. The philosophy that guides them is "Perfektion in der Einfachheit" – perfection in simplicity. This means high-quality raw ingredients, harmonious flavor combinations, and presentations that are clean and unadorned. Their cooking is modern, regional, international, and always from the heart.
Michael Huber trained at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof and later worked at renowned Munich addresses such as Dallmayr, Kreutzkamm, and Restaurant Kleinschmidtz. In his own restaurant, he found the freedom to fully express his creativity. His approach is to reinterpret familiar elements with finesse, turning them into something new and remarkable.
Dinner is a set menu experience. The current Frühjahr-Sommer program offers two six-course options. Menu 1 begins with artichoke paired with rocket and black garlic, followed by herb oyster mushroom with beans and wild garlic, a raviolo with beetroot and poppy seed, radish with capers and raisins, a small selection of hard cow's milk cheese, and a semolina dumpling with vanilla and apple. Menu 2 starts with emperor fish with fennel and saffron, then quail with cauliflower and quinoa, cannelloni with shrimp and paprika, veal with cucumber, radish, and morels, plus the same cheese and dessert. A wine pairing is available for each menu, and guests can choose between four, five, or six courses.
Michelin has awarded the restaurant a Recommendation for 2026, and Gault & Millau gave two toques in 2025. The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious, with outdoor seating available. The wine list is notably well-priced for Munich, with a broad selection that includes German Rieslings and fine Burgundies.
Huber is a place where the focus remains on the plate – and on the pleasure of the meal.
