The story

Le Stollberg Munich – Michelin-Recommended French Fine Dining by Anette Huber

Chef Anette Huber and Her Philosophy

At Le Stollberg in Munich, chef-owner Anette Huber brings a deeply personal approach to fine dining. Raised in Upper Bavaria, Huber’s passion for cooking was sparked by her family’s garden and her mother’s and grandmother’s craftsmanship. After training at Käfer in Munich, she honed her skills in European Michelin-starred kitchens: Cliveden Schloss in Berkshire, the Brandenburger Hof in Berlin under Wolfgang Nagler, and Le Calandre near Padua with three-star chef Massimiliano Alajmo. Returning to her roots, she opened Le Stollberg, where her motto is “Ihr Genuß ist unsere Freude” – your enjoyment is our joy.

Seasonal Sourcing and a Focus on Offal

The kitchen’s foundation is uncompromising quality. Huber shops daily at Munich’s markets, sourcing from producers she knows personally: kid goat from Demeterhof Oberlohe, wild game from hunter Schorsch Bindsteiner, cheese from affineur Tourrette in Alsace, and herbs, berries, and vegetables from her family’s garden in Freimehring. The restaurant’s specialty is the excellent preparation of offal – a hallmark of classic French cuisine that Huber elevates with Mediterranean touches. The menu changes daily, driven by what is freshest. A sample lunch might feature tartare of smoked trout with avocado and mango, or lamb rump with ratatouille and polenta, all priced accessibly for a fine-dining address.

The Dining Experience

Located quietly near the Isartor and Maximilianstrasse, Le Stollberg offers an atmosphere that balances elegance with warmth. The team – including service staff Tanja, Birgit, Matthias, and Lea, and kitchen crew Maria, Malte, Adrian, and Huber herself – works in harmony to ensure every guest feels cared for. The wine list is curated to complement the food, with the restaurant’s philosophy that the right wine is simply the one you like best. Michelin’s recommendation recognizes this consistent commitment to craft and hospitality. For a lighter visit, Le petit Stollberg serves coffee, cakes, snacks, and warm daily dishes from morning until afternoon.
